The LAPD announced they are looking into the allegations that someone drugged Britney Spears.
The AP reports:
Police Capt. Kyle Jackon said in a statement Wednesday that the allegations “are being considered” by the Robbery-Homicide unit to determine if laws have been violated. Jackson says no suspect has been identified.
Spears’ mother recently claimed that Britney’s friend/manager Sam Lutfi drugged Spears in an attempt to control her. There is currently a restraining order out against Lutfi.

Bowing down to corporate pressure, the heads of the movie studio resigned today. Major layoffs are expected imminently.
New Line will now be folded into Warner Bros.

It is estimated that the thieves took off with about $20-30 million in jewels!!!!!!
The robbers got into the showroom by digging an underground tunnel from the building next door, which took months to dig up.
Neighbors nearby had reported hearing noises, usually late at night or some times in the early morning. Dressed up and pretending to be policemen who wanted to examine the reports of noise, the burglars got into the showroom unarmed and proceeded to tie up staff members and rob the store.
They're getting so creative, these crooks!
The store owenrs, which were in Los Angeles this past weekend, said "the value of the jewels stolen … has not been yet quantified precisely but is totally covered by the insurance policies stipulated by Damiani Spa with the primary insurance Groups Allianz and Lloyd's of London."
Think we should check Ebay to find out if any cheap Damiani jewels are up for sale???

“In court papers filed in Los Angeles on Friday, Anderson asked the court not to award spousal support and to keep her and Salomon’s income and property separate. On Monday, Anderson filed a request to have a retired judge handle the annulment proceedings — a common practice in celebrity split-ups as it keeps matters private and out of the court.”
Anderson and Salomon were married Oct. 6 in Las Vegas and separated Dec. 13. He is best known for making a sex tape with Paris Hilton.
Pete Wentz does more than just rawk and use a lot of hair products. He cares, y'all.
The Fall Out Boy bassist was in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday with Invisible Children, the not-for-profit organization aimed at raising awareness of the plight of children displaced by the bloody war in the Central African nation of Uganda.

Mischa Barton was formally charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana, stemming from her arrest two months ago.
The former star of “The O.C.” was charged Tuesday with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while having a 0.08 percent or higher blood alcohol level, driving without a valid license and possession of marijuana 28.5 grams or less.
Barton was arrested Dec. 27 in Hollywood after sheriff’s deputies saw her car straddling two lanes of traffic and failing to signal for a turn.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were scheduled to have their very first run-in with Jennifer Aniston at a party at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday night.

Now, the blonde socialite is speaking out about her return to television.
The show, which will air on MTV, will consist of a group of girls who will share a house in Los Angeles and compete to become her new best friend.
Paris recently told In Touch Weekly, "I never got to go to college and this will be my chance to be in a sorority and have that experience."

Naomi Campbell is said to be dating a Brazilian businessman. The supermodel has spent a lot of time recently in the South American country.
The supermodel underwent surgery Monday for what turned out to be an ovarian cyst.
During a consultation prior to her surgery, Naomi's doctor found the presence of a cyst and decided to perform surgery to remove the nodule. The doctors believe that the cyst could get inflamed rapidly if it was not removed.
Naomi is happy and conscious, according to friends.
She could be released from the hospital as soon as three days from now.

Ro made the announcement on her blog Friday evening that she was planning to appear in a new sitcom.

But he and his lawyers worked with Britney's dad, Jamie, and her attorneys to make sure they could reach an agreement that would keep everyone happy, especially those two kids.
We are cautiously optimistic that this good progress Britney has made these last few weeks will continue. We hope it does. She still has more work to do on her path towards health and happiness.
But this is a very encouraging step in that direction!

The singer's record label ditched Head and is rush-releasing new single Lil' Miss Obsessive.
This song has her boyfriend Pete Wentz's fingerprints all over it! And it's much much better. It feels more organic.
A power pop/rock anthem, the song features Tom from Plain White Ts singing beautiful harmonies with Simpson.
It's a really pretty song we're not ashamed to like. And we think it will do very well for Asslee on radio.

The similarities between the Democratic presidential hopeful and a speech made by by Deval Patrick, the current Democratic governor of Massachusetts, back in October 2006 are striking.

Paul McCartney is set to pay over $100 million to Heather Mills as part of their divorce settlement.
Mills will also get $5 million of annual payments until their 4-year-old daughter Beatrice turns 18.
Mills has custody of Beatrice, but McCartney will have visitation rights.
According to a source:
“They have a settlement. They have agreed on all points. Nothing much has changed this week. There was a deal at the beginning, but it was a complex one.”
“There have been a few tweaks to the agreements, but those have been mostly changes Heather wanted made.”

According to preliminary reports, last night's Grammy Awards telecast was the third least-watched ever in its history.
Last year 20 million people tuned in.
This year, only 17.5 million made the effort.
And the Recording Academy spent so much money to promote the cause since this year was its 50th Anniversary!
But, on the bright side, the Grammys did win the night…it beat out American Gladiators and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Attorney Jeryll Cohen wrote, "During the telephone conversation, Mr. Grossman [Brit's business manager] told me that he had numerous e-mails from Osama (Sam) Lutfi in which Mr. Lutfi made various demands, including demands for money. Mr. Grossman told me he did not comply with Mr. Lutfi's demands."

Dolly Parton has had to postpone her upcoming U.S. tour because of a serious back ailment!
The singer has released the following statement:
"DOLLY PARTON FORCED TO POSTPONE U.S. TOUR TO RECOVER FROM BACK CONDITION 2.11.08
DOLLY PARTON has been forced to postpone her upcoming U.S. tour due to a back condition. Doctors have advised the iconic American singer, songwriter, film star and entrepreneur to take six to eight weeks off in order to recover properly.
The tour–in support of DOLLY's BACKWOODS BARBIE album, due out February 26 on Dolly Records–was set to kick off February 28 in Minneapolis, MN. DOLLY apologizes to all her fans for this inconvenience and hopes that her fans will be patient until the dates can be rescheduled for late April through May. Tickets will be honored for the new dates.
In a statement, DOLLY said: "I know I have been breaking my neck and bending over backwards trying to get my new Backwoods Barbie CD and world tour together, but I didn't mean to hurt myself doing it! But hey, you try wagging these puppies around a while and see if you don't have back problems. Ticket sales for Avril Lavigne's upcoming tour are sluggish, to put it mildly. So, the singer and "songwriter" held a press conference to try and drum up interest in her new outing.
Here are some of the HIGHlights:
"My inspiration for this record, a lot of it came from the live show and knowing what kind of songs I wanted to play live. I wanted to play fast, fun songs. I love playing songs like Sk8er Boi onstage because the crowd just reacts, and I love it when everyone is freaking out and jumping.
My last record, Under My Skin, was pretty mid-tempo and darker, so every song was like bringing down the audience. So I was just wanted to rock, which is why I made a very up-tempo record.
The show is going to be very upbeat and the production will be bigger in the sense of dancers during a couple of songs, LED screens, a pink-sparkled drum kit and flags. Over time, I've sort of learned how I need to be on stage, and I'm more confident. It's just more dynamic, brighter and more colorful. I'm excited about it because I've been working on the show for a very long time now. And it's just going to be really fun to finally go play."

New Line Cinema has been slapped with another Lord of the Rings lawsuit.
A few years ago Rings director Peter Jackson sued the movie studio for underpaying him by millions.
Now, on Monday, reps for the estate of Lord of the Rings creator, J.R.R. Tolkien, filed a suit in LA claiming New Line failed to pay them their cut of gross profits. The estate claims that the film company made $6 billion off the three Rings movies and is required to pay 7.5% of gross receipts to the estate and its partners.
That's a lot of cash that's due!
This is probably the last thing that the studio needs. A major shake up is already in the cards for New Line.

Dolly Parton has had to postpone her upcoming U.S. tour because of a serious back ailment!
The singer has released the following statement:
"DOLLY PARTON FORCED TO POSTPONE U.S. TOUR TO RECOVER FROM BACK CONDITION 2.11.08
DOLLY PARTON has been forced to postpone her upcoming U.S. tour due to a back condition. Doctors have advised the iconic American singer, songwriter, film star and entrepreneur to take six to eight weeks off in order to recover properly.
The tour–in support of DOLLY's BACKWOODS BARBIE album, due out February 26 on Dolly Records–was set to kick off February 28 in Minneapolis, MN. DOLLY apologizes to all her fans for this inconvenience and hopes that her fans will be patient until the dates can be rescheduled for late April through May. Tickets will be honored for the new dates.
In a statement, DOLLY said: "I know I have been breaking my neck and bending over backwards trying to get my new Backwoods Barbie CD and world tour together, but I didn't mean to hurt myself doing it! But hey, you try wagging these puppies around a while and see if you don't have back problems. Seriously though, the doctors said I will be good as new in a few weeks, and I can't wait to get back out there. See you soon, Dolly."

Ticket sales for Avril Lavigne's upcoming tour are sluggish, to put it mildly. So, the singer and "songwriter" held a press conference to try and drum up interest in her new outing.
Here are some of the HIGHlights:
"My inspiration for this record, a lot of it came from the live show and knowing what kind of songs I wanted to play live. I wanted to play fast, fun songs. I love playing songs like Sk8er Boi onstage because the crowd just reacts, and I love it when everyone is freaking out and jumping.
My last record, Under My Skin, was pretty mid-tempo and darker, so every song was like bringing down the audience. So I was just wanted to rock, which is why I made a very up-tempo record.
The show is going to be very upbeat and the production will be bigger in the sense of dancers during a couple of songs, LED screens, a pink-sparkled drum kit and flags. Over time, I've sort of learned how I need to be on stage, and I'm more confident. It's just more dynamic, brighter and more colorful. I'm excited about it because I've been working on the show for a very long time now. And it's just going to be really fun to finally go play."

Amongst the shocking revelations, Lisa Love says….
Former intern Lauren Conrad wasn't the best role model for the Teen Vogue reader and criticized her for partying too much.
"I think that’s really why Teen Vogue had had their moment with them — it went into another zone," Love says. "They were great interns in the beginning, and then it’s time for interns to go some place else, right?"
Lisa also admits, "I’ve never watched the show."
And, she questions how real the reality show is: "I think why they say all that is because there’s so much editing. They shoot reality and somehow it’s changed in the editing room to appeal to things, I don’t know."

Angelina Jolie’s recent pregnancy may be what’s keeping her marriage together.
According to sources, Jolie has been terrified over Brad Pitt leaving her if she didn’t have another baby.
“Brad and Angelina are absolutely thrilled, but Angelina is also very relieved,” the source said.
“After trying for months to conceive naturally, she also began to fear that she’d never get pregnant again. She really believes that the new babies will finally put to rest the problems in their relationship.”

Kirsten Dunst has checked herself into Cirque Lodge rehab facility in Utah. It’s the same place that Lindsay Lohan was admitted to…and most recently, Eva Mendes.
“She desperately needed help,” according to a source. “She seemed to be intoxicated when she checked in because she was acting really erratic. She was extremely emotional, constantly breaking down in tears.”
“She’s not in a good place right now, but thankfully, she’s getting the help she needs.”

Michelle Williams and her young daughter, Matilda, arrived Wednesday in the home town of Heath Ledger, Perth, Australia.
The two are there for the final burial of the deceased actor.
Eric Dane was diagnosed with skin cancer just last month. After successfully having treated the disease, the actor is now opening op to OK! magazine about his struggle.
We're gonna try and not be a cynic for a moment. Hopefully Dane is speaking out to increase awareness and encourage people to get examined regularly. And, if is he did get paid for the interview, which he probably did, hopefully he's donating the money to some cancer charity!
The Grey's Anatomy star first detected something was wrong when he looked in the mirror and saw what looked like chapped lips but clearly wasn’t.
“I went to my dermatologist,” Dane tells OK!. “He said it was malignant tissue caused by sun damage."
The malignancy was treated by freezing the cancerous tissue off with liquid nitrogen. Unfortunately for Eric, the actor had a severe reaction to a cream given to him for his lip after the treatment . “My skin is very sensitive and my lip was traumatized by the procedure I had to go through.”
That doesn't sound very pleasant!
His lip’s overreaction to the medication created a painful scenario that made eating difficult, if not impossible. “I didn’t eat very well for a couple of weeks and lost a bunch of weight,” Eric explains, estimating that he dropped at least 10 pounds off his 6'1" frame while dealing with his cancer.
Thankfully, though, Dane is better now.

As I have traveled around the country these past twelve months, what I sensed in my heart has been confirmed – America is embracing its LGBT sons and daughters with an acceptance and understanding as never before. On the campaign trail, a father of a gay son will ask about ending Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. A woman will ask why she can be discriminated against just because of who she is. Sometimes they wait furtively for the crowd to thin and then whisper their confidences in a soft voice and sometimes they stand up proudly at town meetings and want me to share my views on how I will help lead the change to assure that this country fulfills its promise to everyone.
Let me tell you what I have been telling voters across America. I am fully committed to the fair and equal treatment of LGBT Americans. For seven long years, the Bush Administration has tried to divide us - only seeing people who matter to them. It's been a government of the few, by the few, and for the few. And no community has been more invisible to this administration than the LGBT community.
I will change that. The best evidence of what I will do as President is what I have already done.
* I am proud of my record as First Lady, as a U.S. Senator and as a candidate for President in working toward the fair and equal treatment of LGBT Americans.
* I am proud that as Chair of the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee in 2006, I worked closely with LBGT community to develop a smart strategy that defeated the Federal Marriage Amendment. I am proud of fighting the FMA as divisive wedge politics at its worst.
* I am proud to be a co-sponsor of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, the Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, and the Domestic Partnership Benefits and Obligation Act which would grant the same benefits (including health insurance) to domestic partners of federal employees that are currently offered to employees’ legal spouses.
* I am proud to have authored the Early Treatment for HIV Act, which expands access to vital treatment options for low-income individuals living with HIV, and fought to fully fund the Ryan White CARE Act.
* I am proud that I hired a National Director of LGBT Outreach within a month of announcing my candidacy for President and to have openly gay and lesbian staffers serving at all levels of my campaign.
* I am proud to have a National LGBT Steering Committee of over 130 that includes openly LGBT elected officials, Board members and opinion leaders on issues ranging from transgender rights, to HIV/AIDS, to “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell”.
* I am proud to have marched in Gay Pride parades as both First Lady and as Senator and to have spoken in front of so many LGBT audiences ranging from the Human Rights Campaign, Empire State Pride Agenda, the Hetrick Martin Institute, PFLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), GMHC (Gay Men’s Health Crisis), and the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
* I am proud to have fought Republican efforts to demonize and marginalize the LGBT community, and I will continue to do that as President.
We have so much work to do. When I am President, we will work together to make sure that all Americans in committed relationships have equal benefits and that nothing stands in the way of loving couples who want to adopt children in need. We're going to expand our federal hate crimes legislation and pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act and assure that they are both fully inclusive of all people. And finally, we will put an end to the failed policy of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. Courage, honor, patriotism and sacrifice – the traits that define our men and women in uniform – have nothing to do with sexual orientation.
My father was a conservative Republican, who held very traditional views for much of his life. Yet in his last years, it was a gay couple who lived next door who provided much of the compassion and comfort he and my mother needed as he grew ill. And it was that same neighbor who held his hand as he died. If my father can move, America can move.
To each and every LGBT American, I say this. You have done so much to help this country understand your lives by simply being open and honest about who you are and living your lives with dignity. Thank you for your courage. It is time that we recognize your hard work. I know that this country is ready for changes in the law that reflect the evolution in our hearts.
America deserves a President who appeals to the best in each of us, not the worst; a President who values and respects all Americans and treats all Americans equally no matter who they are or who they love. I want to be that President. I want to be your President.

I'm disappointed the Spice Girls aren't coming on tour to my country because ________.
Following her commitment to a Los Angeles hospital, Britney Spears’ father, James Spears, was awarded temporary “conservatorship” of Britney and her estate.
A court creates a conservatorship when a person cannot care for himself or herself or handle their own affairs.
The Los Angeles court also placed a restraining order on Spears’ manager Sam Lutfi, and gave permission to change the locks on her estate and remove anyone who was there.
It took the nearly two dozen LAPD police officers, a helicopter and a special team to block roads and escort Britney Spears in an ambulance to UCLA Medical Center.
The Los Angeles Police Department incurred about $25,000 in expenses.
LAPD Deputy Chief Michel Moore says it was “a shame” that escorting the pop star diverted scarce police resources from “public safety needs such as violent crime, drunken driving or responding to the ongoing stream of 911 calls.”
Jonathan Rhys Myers was out clubbing in LA on Friday.
The actor was seen leaving one of the hotspots early in the morning, and by the look of things - it seems like he had A LOT of fun!

Though Lutfi visited the UCLA Medical Center more than once on Thursday, Us Weekly is reporting that Lutfi "had no contact with Britney."
Meanwhile, TMZ is reporting that Jamie & Lynne are the ones calling the shots in the hospital and advising the doctors on Spears' treatment.
Lutfi, for his part, is just publicly badmouthing Britney's parents.

Eva Mendes has checked into rehab!
The actress is seeking treatment for substance abuse at the Cirque Lodge in Utah, the place Lindsay called home for several months last year.
Mendes has already been there a few weeks.
Everybody in Hollywood is on drugs, y'all.

Eva's publicist just released this statement.
"Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support. Out of respect for Eva's privacy, we do not wish to discuss further details."

David Beckham has got a new tattoo - a naked picture of his wife Victoria.
The soccer star’s seven-inch artwork on his left arm features the Spice Girl lying on her back surrounded by stars and baring her breasts with her knees raised up seductively.
According to a close friend, “David is thrilled with the results. He thinks of Victoria of his angel which is why he decided on the stars. Victoria is very flattered with this beautiful tribute.”
The new image is his 11th piece of body art.
